Sunday School

 

                                                                                  HOLY TRINITY SUNDAY SCHOOL

 

CLASSES:

The minimum enrollment age is three years. These children are placed in the pre-school class. Children must have their third birthday by September 30th of the current year. All classes are set up solely according to the grade levels as in Public Schools.

 

TERM:     

The Sunday School term begins on September 28th, 2008 and extends through the third Sunday of June of the following year.

                         

FEE:   

The children are asked to pay a nominal registration fee of:

                                                                One Child..................................$30.00

                                                                Two Children.............................. 50.00

                                                                 Three Children............................60.00

and to make weekly offerings. These contributions help pay a small portion of our Sunday School budget and most important, cultivate the Christian idea of stewardship to the children.

 

ATTENDANCE:

An attendance award will be given to those children who do not miss more than 3 Sundays during the school term. When a child attends another Greek Orthodox Church, he/she must bring a note from the Church School indicating his/her attendance. Each student is expected to attend classes every Sunday. (Illness is not an excused absence.)

Sunday School begins 10:00 a.m. SHARP. Students and Teachers, excluding Nursery and Kindergarten, must be in Church for the Divine Liturgy by 9:45 a.m. the latest. The Divine Liturgy ends at 11 :30 a.m. Any child arriving after 10:10 a.m. will be marked "tardy." Four (4) tardiness will constitute an absence. Nursery and Kindergarten Teachers and Students must be in Church at 9:45 a.m. ONLY on the 1st Sunday of each month.

Each grade will attend the Divine Liturgy in its entirety once a month according to the following schedule:

                                1st Sunday of each month                                  1st, 2nd & 9th& 10th Grades

                                2nd Sunday of each month                                  3rd, 4th, 11th & 12th Grades

                                3rd Sunday of each month                                  5th & 6th Grades

                                4th Sunday of each month                                  7TH & 8th Grades

                                5th Sunday (Sept., Dec., March)                        9th - 12th Grades

 

ASSISTANTS:

Father Nick selects assistants.  Assistants and must be High School Seniors, registered in the Sunday School Program, and there is an open position for an assistant. There will be no exception to this rule.

 

ALTAR BOYS:

Any Sunday School student 10 years or older, wishing to serve as an Altar Boy must contact Father Nick. They must also be registered in the Sunday School Program.
